Position Overview
WTG is seeking an experienced and technically capable IT Project Manager to join the team of existing project managers to project manage Professional Services projects and WTG NorthstarMS Co-Managed Services service delivery. This role is responsible for ensuring projects run smoothly from kickoff to close-out while acting as a trusted single point of contact for customers, for post-sales services delivery. At WTG, customer satisfaction is our highest priority, and our measure of success is the outcomes we deliver. The ideal candidate is a technically savvy project manager who thrives on critical thinking, proactive communication, and driving projects to completion with exceptional customer outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary customer point of contact for Professional Services and Managed Services engagements
  • Manage all phases of the project lifecycle: planning, scheduling, execution, monitoring, close-out, and invoicing
  • Create and maintain detailed project plans (WBS preferred), ensuring visibility into tasks, responsibilities, dependencies, and deadlines
  • Coordinate Professional Services and Engineering resource schedules
  • Maintain accurate financial and project reporting, including budgets, profitability, and time tracking
  • Track and manage project-related materials, licensing, and subscriptions
  • Communicate proactively with customers and internal stakeholders, managing scope changes and setting expectations
  • Act as an escalation point for engineers who need manufacturer or third-party support
  • Resolve client satisfaction issues while fostering long-term relationships
  • Actively identify and support follow-on service and solution opportunities for Account Executives

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of direct experience as a Project Manager (not coordinator or related role), 5 or more years of experience is strongly preferred
  • Strong technical aptitude and ability to collaborate with engineering teams (candidates with hands-on technical background are strongly preferred)
  • Prior experience in a VAR or MSP environment is highly desirable
  • Proven critical thinking and problem-solving skills, with a proactive, self-starting mindset
  • Strong customer service orientation with the ability to manage expectations and resolve issues under pressure
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience
  • Sample (non-AI-generated) project documentation will be requested for satisfactory review
  • Professional references will be checked

  • Other relevant certifications (PMP, Agile, etc.)

Position Details

  • Type: Full-Time, Regular
  • Location: Remote, based in the US Eastern Time Zone (U.S. work authorization required)
  • Travel: Occasional East Coast / Northeast travel is highly desired
